I love a challenge and so, it seems, do you!
ABOUT THIS CHALLENGE ~ The Queen's Gambit
You voted to have designs inspired by The Queen's Gambit starring Anna Taylor Joy as Beth Harmon. As an inspiration topic, there was a LOT to work with ~ the years span from 1958 - 1968, so you see not only the evolution of Beth from child to adult, but fashion in general changed dramatically during that time.
The popular colors of the day were similar to the appliances...Avocado, Harvest Gold, Brown...and the Chess theme reflected heavily throughout the costuming, utilizing graphic lines, stripes, checks, etc. Additional inspiration was drawn from Marielle Heller who played Beth's adopted mom, Alma Wheatley, and Moses Ingram who played Jolene, Beth's childhood friend.
All in all, this was a super fun challenge and it provided a great platform for a variety of new styles which I hope you will enjoy!
